Who we are
Southern Quacker Wildlife Conservation (SQWC) is a passionate Louisiana nonprofit, registered and pending 501(c)(3) status (filed April 29, 2025), based in St. Tammany Parish. We are dedicated to protecting waterfowl populations and their wetland habitats through hands-on conservation efforts, including the installation of duck nesting boxes on private land and the expansive 35,000-acre Pearl River Wildlife Management Area. We have been installing duck boxes on private land since 2016. Volunteer led, we partner with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to enhance wood duck habitats and promote sustainable hunting practices. With a vision to install up to 500 boxes by 2030, SQWC is committed to preserving Louisiana’s natural heritage for future generations.
