Who we are

Southern Quacker Wildlife Conservation (SQWC) is a passionate Louisiana nonprofit, registered 501(c)(3), based in St. Tammany Parish. We are dedicated to protecting waterfowl populations and their wetland habitats through hands-on conservation efforts, including the installation of duck nesting boxes on private land and the expansive 35,000-acre Pearl River Wildlife Management Area. We have been installing duck boxes on private land since 2016. Volunteer led, we partner with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to enhance wood duck habitats and promote sustainable hunting practices. With a vision to install up to 500 boxes by 2030, SQWC is committed to preserving Louisiana’s natural heritage for future generations. We are the proud recipient of the Louisiana Outdoors Forever Grant to install 30 wood duck nesting boxes in Pearl River WMA! With community matching, we’re launching Phase 1 of our 500-box vision by 2030. Thank you LDWF & our volunteers!
